Are you writing a research essay for your JD or MLM?  The Legal Academic Skills Centre (LASC) and Law Library have developed a research essay plan to guide you through the different steps of planning and conducting research for your essay.

Download the research essay plan and use it as a tool to map and track your research. Using a plan to document your research as you go can save you a lot of time. It can provide a clear outline of work already done, which means you can avoid duplicating work already undertaken.

If you are a student at MLS and need help with research, the LASC and Law Library hold research workshops at the start of semester. View the workshop schedule.

If you miss the workshops, a recording of previous workshops is available on the LASC Community. This is a Canvas Community open to MLS students. If you haven’t joined the Community, the LASC website has information on signing up.

The Law Library have produced a range of research guides and research skills videos to help students with legal research. You can find these guides on the Law Library website.
